Watch all the popular Rocket League streamers start doing case openings and betting as they did with CS:GO, it can hurt the online community quite a lot.

Valve is sending cease and desist letters to the owners of gambling/betting websites, so it seems very unlikely that this will happen with Rocket League, not to mention the developers have said the items won't be able to be put on the steam marketboard, I believe.

Well Valve is able to send cease and desist letters because they developed CS:GO, Rocket League isn't the same thing. If they forbid people from putting the items on the Steam marketboard it can limit the gambling though, that's a good idea.

Valve can send C&D's for more reasons than simply just because they made CS:GO, they're sending them because they use the Steam API in a way they deem against their terms of service. (https://i.imgur.com/P9S6RWT.jpg)

Awesome, I play rocket league almost every day and it's always fun. Can't wait for this update because it's going to keep me up hooked even more time!

I never got to play CS go so I don't know how such things could have a negative impact on the game and community but hopefully they have already foreseen this as they have stated so they may have already put in measures to prevent it. I'm excited to see what comes of this on my game streams.
