I saw this on Reddit and wanted to share the image but for some reason, I was unable to upload the image.

    But here's the link:

Looking at the images it doesn't seem like this setup is worth 125k pounds and even if it were I don't think it's justified. You can buy a beast of a car for that amount of money, why waste it to "race" in virtual reality? Cool setup nonetheless.

Actually it just might cost that much money. I had a look around the net to find out the price range of that curved screen and learned that it costs $120,000. Now a gamer who spends that much money must have really deep pockets.

Well, I think that this is only for millionaires. Look at the screen, it's curved. It will surely give a awesome gaming experience. I wish I could afford it.

Well, the virtual reality games are yet to come and I don't think any game is launched with a VR interface. I will definitely try it when it is released.

Don't think about buying it, bro. I don't think everyone will be able to afford it. He is definitely a rich guy. I wish I could play the game sitting on that chair.

I have not seen or played any game with Virtua Reality interface. I think you need to wait a little bit for it. The VR games should be released soon.

I think a decent gaming seat, wheel and VR headset all of which would cost someone less than $2K would be good enough for the average sim racing enthusiast.

I can't believe it's worth that much. What is that, a warped screen projector and overhead projection? I hope the chair has force feedback and hydraulics to simulate the turns and gravity forces.

Would I spend that much on a game rig? No way. I'd rather make a complete collection of video games made for the ps3 or xbox 360 before creating that monstrosity.

As much as I love gaming, I really wouldn't even consider getting this if I had the money. It's just too expensive for one game. I can understand buying a PS4 because you want a game there, simply because you can also play other games when you are done. With that setup, it's just going to be one race after another, and that's just gonna end up being boring after a while, and you will have a 125k hole in your wallet.

Looks pretty cool. I'm not sure how much I'd enjoy the curved screen as I feel it would feel a bit odd but maybe once I get to try it out I'll change my mind. Not what I would spend that money on personally but it does look good.

    Jesus.

For a quarter of a million it doesn't look all that appealing. The projection set-up for instance doesn't look all that nice and the colours look really faded.

I can think of far better ways of spending that money than a set-up like this.

According to an article I read curved screens allow for more immersive experiences and provide a wider viewing angle. The last part might be true but I don't about them allowing for a more immersive experience. VR headsets do, not a curved screen.

To be honest if an immersive experience is what I seek when playing games a VR headset would be cheaper.

Well I'm glad you posted the article and I had a chance to see it, as I think that's the closest I'm ever going to get to a gaming system that costs that much!

As others have already said though, you must be extremely rich to even consider buying a set up like this, and if there are people out there who don't know what to spend their money on, they can chuck it my way instead!

I'd never blow that much money at once on video games. I'd rather buy an actual car and spend the rest on different types of tech and games. VR would be a more immersive and cost effective way of doing things over this.

I guess having this setup might not be that different from the big machines we used to see in arcades, but for me I only ever played those once in a while as the novelty didn't really appeal to me all that much but it does still seem like fun to play even for someone like me who isn't all that interested in the first place, admittedly.

It certainly would be. But there's still some way to go before we can get truly immersive VR.

The FOVE headset with it's eye tracking tech might prove to be the best but it's still in development. I'm sure Oculus, HTC Vive and the others will also want to add this feature to their VR headsets. And oh, according to VR experts at AMD, VR has to hit 8K resolution per eye for a truly immersive experience.

A good compromise is TrackIR. You get head tracking and don't have to invest in a 100,000 set-up.

I've said it before but VR when it gets more available will be insane.

This seems like an utterly ridiculous setup. That price is crazy! That said, I won't lie when I saw that looks super, super cool. I'd love to try it out myself... just without the rather absurd cost.

It looks slick for sure, but I don't know if I would spend that kind of money on a video game setup. With that kind of money I'd probably get myself a Corvette and call it a day.
