First there was the Japanese pack which cost $5, the bonus pack which was free then came the announcement of the Porsche DLC and now just a few weeks later there's the "Red Pack." Hmmm . . . it's starting to feel like they are getting kind of rapacious.
There's obviously a lot of money to be made by releasing DLC and while I'm not against companies releasing it if it enhances the actual game, I can see why some people may start to get annoyed when there's new content being released on what seems like a weekly basis.
There's admittedly a lot of DLC for this game and I could see why that might turn people away from it, but personally, the DLC is all extremely high quality and well worth the price of admission. That said, if the quality of the packs ever starts to falter than I will certainly begin to get annoyed.
As you say, I don't think people mind at the moment because even though there is a lot of DLC, it's DLC that is high quality and makes the game better to play. If that ever stops being the case though, I can see a time when people will simply stop buying them, and that's something that the game developers need to consider.
I don't have too much of a problem with more dlc as long as the price is right. Maybe they are getting a little bit greedy, but if they price it well I don't think it will be an issue.
I agree with the posts here I think the DLC is top notch so I think they can get away with it. As long as they don't start becoming too greedy or annoying I think it's alright.
Problem is they are announcing DLC before they even release the game. Which means they are keeping some content out of the game so they can sell it ( it doesn't really matter if it is $3 or so). I'm certain that if they keep it up, it won't be long before they start annoying gamers.
Is this content coming on the console versions as well? Maybe they are just releasing the info so as to tease and entice people about the upcoming console version? I don't what to make of all this, I'm just waiting to see how it handles on this gens consoles.
The content won't be included in the upcoming Console version of the game. It'll be sold separately. They'll offer some free DLC I suppose but the Red Pack and Porsche DLC, that you'll have to buy.
