It's always been fun playing racing games, and I think we can all agree that we all have our own likes and dislikes about this genre. For me though, would you rather race with a car or a bike? Bikes tend to have a more aggressive obstacle course, filled with jumps and trick shots but still be realistic enough that you can actually see it being in a real place. For cars, they can't realistically jump high in ramps without damaging the car, and still be able to do the rest of the lap. On the other hand though, outside the races, I think the best part of racing games is customizing your ride, and you can't customize bikes all that much, with so much little space to work on. For me, that's where cars take the cake when it comes to racing games. Customization and enhancement. What about you guys?
If it's simulation style, like this MXGP2, I think I prefer cars. Since you're down on the ground for the majority of it anyway, it's more fun to control a car in a rally or a street race than it is for a bike. If it's arcade style, I much prefer bikes. When it's arcade style, with bikes you can do lots of cool tricks, and generally have a lot of more fun races. Cars in arcade style are still good, but that's just my general opinion.
I agree. I think for the most part, since we are aiming for realism in these games, most of the people would rather drive a car and race rather than a bike. One, it's a lot more dangerous for bikes because you wouldn't have any protection. And on the other hand, you also get to be proud of your muscle car or race car, compared to bikes which really look a whole lot alike, and with fewer modifications around it. So I think having cars, upgrading each part, painting it to match your personality and all that, would be better than a bike.
Yeah, something I forgot to touch on is pure customization. There really sin't anything you can do with motor bikes. You can change the color, and the color scheme, but it's not the same level as cars. When you think of games where your car is heavily customizable, it just isn't possible to do the same thing for bikes. You can't put cool spoilers, or different headlights, or change the body. Most of the time the biggest decision is "Dirt bike or Street bike". That lack of customization can be a detriment in some situations.
I would much rather drive a car than a bike, although the latter isn't really the worst thing in the world. I just like the feel of the car better. Shifting, steering and accelerating feel more natural than on a bike.
I don't prefer either but it also depends on the mode I choose. Hardcore sim, I'll choose a car. For arcade racing, a motor bike will be fine.
I will always choose cars. For bikes it seems people just purposely try to ram you because it's easier to fall off the bike if you hit a bump. Plus the car races to me are generally just way more fun. Turning on a bike is too easy and you really have to time it in a car and it's more skill involved. Better upgrades usually for a car too.
I think cars are better in such games - they are more "interactive", and what I mean by it is - you can customise your cars more than a bike. And the destruction model is an important factor too. You can see how much it is utilised in other games - I can't imagine how would you transform that to be useful that much for bikes.
It has to be rally cay racing. Not tarmac. Throw in some hills and mud and that makes for a better game in my opinion.
I would prefer to race in cars. I just think they have more control but they can be less maneuverable than bikes especially since they cannot weave and bob through traffic. As far as speed and acceleration goes I think cars come out on top.
I think more realistic games and simulations, cars make more sense because of their nature, though personally, I find motor bikes in games more entertaining to drive and race with.
I prefer racing cars but I do enjoy racing bikes. It is very different and you don't think in the same way. While with cars you have a circuit and you have to keep your car on it, with off road motor bikes you have to think of the jumps as well and not only top end speed, but both are fun in different ways.
I especially enjoy racing bikes in sandbox games like GTA V. I like having the freedom of mobility. What is your guys' favorite bikes??
I enjoy using a car as they are safe and also you won't have injuries like when riding a racing bike, it can be nice to be able to see where the roads bend in the game. Cars can be nice to see different views and you feel like you have more control and can move ahead and feel like you are the driver in the game. I think that games which have good cars can make players feel that they are in the game as a real person and enjoy the game as well in the process.
I would have to go with cars, although I love bikes very much, there seems to be much more danger with riding the. If I'm in an accident, I would not want to be on a bike, and racing increases the risk. Although you can go off road with bikes, it is also pretty fun to do the same thing with a big car. You were right that you can't customize bikes that much.
I agree. When I drive a car in a game, I feel like driving a real car and it feels much realistic. With the controllers, it would be even more interesting. I have played a lot of game with the controllers and I must say driving a car is more enjoyable than a bike (my thought).
That's exactly why I like playing bike games, I normally don't ride bikes in the real world, but in a game you don't run any risks. I prefer car games only because I like cars more then motorbikes.
I like cars more in general, there is just more to them. With a car you can see the design of the vehicle easier since it's a big metal box with wheels. I also like having 4 wheels since I just think it feels better. It's kinda hard to explain for me really. However, if a game lets me race against cars with a bike I choose bike at least 40 percent of the time.
Motorbikes all the way. I've always been fascinated by these vehicles and would love to own one for myself. The problem is that they occupy too much space and I have no actual place to go to with one. Therefor, my best alternative is to play the game with motorbikes!
I like cars a lot more but from time to time I think motorbikes are a good break for routine. I mostly just play it when I get tired of racing cars and I'd say eh both have their own benefits.
