There are a couple of drag racing games on mobile devices and I see that they have received high ratings from users. I don't understand why users of mobile devices dig such games. In drag racing games, all you care about is acceleration. That's what you mainly press. You don't care about steering the car left or right. I hate such games. What's your take?
The really are boring to me. A few weeks ago I tried to play racing rivals because I heard all of my buddies talking about how fun the game is to okay so I was thinking that maybe the game is fun. I went and downloaded and played a few races and then got tired of the game. To me drag racing is not that fun to play it is fun to play in real life but not on a game.
Whoa, have you tried drag racing in real life? I haven't yet. Some of my friends have engaged in drag racing in the past. I haven't though because I'm scared. I don't want to ever get into an accident. Drag racing is fun in real life but it's so dangerous.
Drag racing is about a lot more than just "accelerating." There's a lot of skill involved in having a good start, and it only takes a fraction of a second to do it all. I haven't played any drag racing games, but I'm sure they find a good way to implement that, and that's why they're so popular.
Yeah I sort of agree. I don't really find it interesting as well. All you're really doing is getting ready in the beginning and whoever is better at accelerating their car pretty much wings. I personally prefer street racing games much more than drag racing, but that's just me.
Yeah it is really dangerous. The thing is though when your adrenaline is pumping through your body it's both a scary and exhilarating feeling!
Well, I usually like these games when I start playing for an hour or so, and then I realize how stupid they are. It's just pressing the shift pedal, and nothing more. Sure, it's fun to see how your upgrades impact the acceleration, and how much faster your car is, but it gets boring quickly. The worst part of these games is, if you want to win a certain set of races, you have to spend all the money you earn on car upgrades, which means you can't save the money for the next set of races, to use that money on a new car that you'll get right after you complete this one. This games are usually just cash cows. They are not so hard to make, and they are used to milk money from users who want to be the fastest and meanest racer in the game.
I agree they get repetitive quickly but when I play a game I intend on finishing it. But they can make you nervous and make you feel relieved when you win a race by 0.02 seconds. I only played one drag racing game, which was CSR racing. I beat it and deleted it long ago. Now I play real racing 3 which is a track based game. It also has way more cars than CSR and it has a fully detailed cockpit view.
I have never played a Drag Racing game. However I think that this would be even more boring than the Nascar genres. I can't see playing it because it is basically the same each time.
Drag racing games on mobile and such generally only appeal to me for the first few hours. After that I get tired of it and just stop doing the drag races, It is just driving in a straight line and shifting gears periodically, nothing really amazing or engaging. I hope I can find a good drag racing game on the PC, that would be enjoyable.
I never was a fan of drag racing. Like you said they only care about acceleration. I like the overall experience of racing games. I like the races to last longer than a few seconds as well.
Given that it's a mobile phone game, I'd cut it some slack. Mobile phone controls and game designs are typically much simpler due to limitations in game size and phone processing power. I would probably play the game if I absolutely had nothing else to do, but if such a game came to PC I wouldn't touch it with a five-foot pole.
On a mobile device, the drag racing games are fine, as long as we're not talking about the more simple options out there. Drag racing in real life requires a rather large amount of skill. The timing and coordination required to be successful in drag racing is incredible, and even a fraction of a second of delay will lose you a race.
I played a few of these games when I first got a touchscreen device and although it was enjoyable for a while the novelty quickly ran out and I realized it was because the game only had you pressing a few buttons at the right time and the drag racing part is just a background. This kind of makes it feel not so much like a racing game as you could put these types of mechanics on any other type of game.
