I tend to emulate a lot of the hard-to-find games, but generally speaking I'll buy them if I can. How much I spend depends entirely on whether or not there's a game coming out that I've been waiting for. I'd say I spend around £100 on impulse buys and bundles, but if there are a few titles I've been counting down the days until the release of, then I could easily spend £200. How about you, Davis?
Too much! If a really good one comes out that I have been waiting for I will shell out the cash and pay full price. Otherwise, I pick them up used at Game Stop and other shops. All total I probably average a couple hundred bucks a year. Yes, I am a lightweight.
I too spend way too much on games than I should. I buy most of them as soon as they come out...I preorder them for my PS3 in fact. I usually buy about 10 games a year...so that's 500$ or more right there.
I buy around 5-10 games per year depending on what is coming out.. Also if there is a new console released that year chances are I'll buy that and about 5 games to get me started.
I probably spend about £100-150 on PC gaming a year. I always wait for the Steam sales and then just go crazy I probably spend about £100 on console games. I buy a fair few pre-owned games and stuff like that.
It depends on if my free time syncs up with when I'm getting paid. I can go some years with just playing my old stuff or borrowing from friends. But if I'm on holiday and get a nice deposit into the account, there's a good chance that me and Steam are going to be buds.
I only bough one game this year and it was Dayz. And even then you can't really consider it a game since its a mod of ARMA II.
I rarely buy games, either my brother buys them on Steam (we share the same account!) or I pirate them.
I don't spend that much. I usually wait for sales and I usually just wait till the game is old and cheap so I don't end up paying a lot. The reason I do this is because I rarely get games to play them immediately anyway. They usually just sit in my backlog until I'm already in the right mood, so there's no sense in buying it immediately and paying full price.
I think I've spend $100 this year. I wait for the sale on Steam and get all the free games. My sisters don't want me to spend too much money on games, but it's on sale. No choice but, I want to buy it.
Generally dont spend a lot but i would say around 60$ dollar. all the other games i play are mostly pirated because i dont see the reason to buy a 60$ game every week or so.
All of thee above, before I buy any game I gets its cracked version to test if its worth my cash. If I like it and know I will spend a lot of time online playing it I then foot the fee and buy the licensed version. I never buy digital copies if I can avoid it I always want the original CD with a serial key on the case. I do have a few games that are not available on hard copy, well not until i got them that is HAHA.
Substantially less now as my priorities have changed. But I still buy PS3 games that are on sale a few times a year.
Most PS3 games are pretty cheap after they are 4-5 months old. The price drop is quite steep and if you know what stores to go to then you can really save money and often get games for free with your purchase.
I spent a lot more games during the Nintendo era of gaming when I bought cartridges, booster packs, memory for the N64 etc. That used to run up the bill on my gaming expenses.
That's actually not that bad for a year's worth of entertainment. Especially since the price of a brand new game alone is already half that. I'm really glad that sales are so easy to find now.
