Didn’t get into any of the Crew’s previous closed betas for consoles? Don’t fret, you’ve got one more chance to try out the game. Ubisoft announced an open beta for The Crew coming at the end of the month. A quick open beta will roll out next week from Nov. 25 to Nov. 27. The beta will be open to all PS4 and Xbox One players, although you’ll need Xbox Live Gold for some of the multiplayer features on Xbox One. As with other betas, this one will offer a limited slice of the missions and car specs available in the game, but will allow you to free-roam the entire virtual United States of The Crew. Missions and PVP will be available in the Midwest and East Coast and two of the game’s five race specs, Street and Dirt, will be available. You won’t have long to mull your choice after playing the beta. The Crew will launch Dec. 2 on PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Xbox 360. Ubisoft has also released a new 101 video to promote the game, which you can see above. The post Open Beta for The Crew Coming to PS4 and Xbox One appeared first on Racing Game Central. I have already played the betas on PC, so I am not looking forward to it. Good for those who don;t have PCs. They will be ale to get a taste of this game before it launches.
I played the closed beta, and everything was all right, but I can't say that I really walked away feeling impressed by any means. It's a fine game that doesn't really stand out in my mind, other than the large map.
It's a go-to game for virtual road-trips. Driving in cockpit view across the US, through planes, forests, mountain roads, desert high ways, bridges etc gave me a feeling very close to that when going on road trips in real life. With the proper cockpit view GTA 5 is my current road-trip "sim" (and much more than that), but even this game can't compete with the amount of open roads in The Crew.
It's a bit of an odd time to have the beta after the game has already gone gold, but I suppose stress testing the servers is important to ensuring that another DriveClub fiasco doesn't happen. I played in the previous console beta and was quite impressed overall. I didn't even get a chance to try out the cooperative multiplayer, probably the most important aspect of the game, due to my friends not getting beta codes, so now that we'll all get a chance to participate in it, I'm definitely going to take advantage of what I certainly hope will be the last beta. The 101 trailer is a great overview of all of the major selling points of the game. From my experience with the first beta, I can say that the game is looking pretty much on track to living up to all of the ambitious claims in it.
Well now at least everybody can get to play the game. I never got a beta code so this will be a great opportunity for me. From the reviews that I have read people have mixed feelings about the game, so now I'll have the chance to see for myself how good the game is. But I don't see why they called it a beta because the game should be finished by now. In my opinion they should have called it limited demo.
Wow, this is a really last minute beta. To be honest I think it's probably more of a publicity move than anything, being a few days shy of its release date.
Glad I read this post today, looks like I still have time to try it out before release! This is definitely a publicity stunt though, not a real beta, since the game has already been pressed and nothing is getting changed.
