What is your favorite environment to drive in? I love the freedom of flying, it's a lot of fun but you don't get to take advantage of all the power-ups so there's that disadvantage.
I think driving in water is pretty silly and rather fun, it's unique to racing games that don't take themselves too seriously like Mario Kart.
I've always preferred ground because I'm just more comfortable playing there. Never really been a fan of races in the air either so that's something I won't play too much. Water races can be really fun too though and they're definitely a welcome addition to any game really. I have the most fun on the ground though, just feels more like a real racing game then
Grounds is just where they have the most experience setting races in, I think that as we see more versions of the game, we'll see water and air being more and more fun and relevant.
I like all of the different terrains and environments. Mario Kart makes it interesting even though you're essentially still doing the same thing no matter where you are.
Maybe I'm just getting old, but I don't really like the new terrain options (if that's what we're gonna call them). I mean, they're fun, but the Ground mechanics are superior by a long stretch. I did enjoy water racing the first few days (when it was a novelty) but I don't lie the courses, so I got tired quickly. Does anybody have any info on where new maps are dropping? Even if it's DLC.
Ground and water area always great and I like air for solo exploring. I don't really like to race in the air. It makes me super anxious, but I think that has to do with my fear of flying. It did help me get on a plane recently thought. It helped with something!
Flight is the fastest environment IIRC. I like how it does take a bit more skill to aim and use items in the air. And no bananas.
It'd be cool if Mario Kart did a bumper boats race in the water. They already do go karts, why not bumper boats?
I like this idea. A cool addition would be that the boat could flip 180 degrees and instantly be totalled with a strong enough wave, or hard enough impact from another boat. Would add a nice element of strategy to the game!
I like that idea too! And they can squirt water at each other along with the items they pick up. Nintendo are you listening?
I like to fly around, I feel like I can do anything when I am flying. However, I also like the water because I've always liked water. And also, it takes a lot more skill to launch shells while in the air!
I just kind of like that there are the different options, it's good fun and as someone else mentioned, nice that it doesn't take itself too seriously. I find water to be a lot of fun and something a little different, but ultimately I stick with ground the majority of the time. Just more comfortable there I suppose .
I like playing in the air an on the ground. The air offers a unique experience while the grounds provides familiarity.
I would have to go with water, because it's something very unique. I never played a racing game in the water are before playing Mario Kart and that made it even more fun. I don't like air so much, because I don't like flying myself :O
Although ground always have been my most preferred choice. The water areas have been plenty of fun for me, so it is pretty exciting to play on in my opinion. That said, the air has its own charm. Sometimes I just go for it for a change. Other than that though, ground will be my definite choice when put to contest.
I think that I am jut more comfortable on the ground then on the water or in the air it is really easier for me to play on the ground like I normally do.
Actually I like the fact that there is 3 different racing courses. It keeps the game fresh and not repetitive. That's where the fun factor lies. From the tarmac to the air then to the water. Keeps us guessing and makes gameplay fresher.
I prefer the ground just because I'm more used to it. I have a bit of trouble getting accustomed to the other terrain but I'm also glad that they are available as options to freshen the game up.
Mostly I drive on solid ground, because I'm better at it, plus driving on (or in) water and air is unusual for me. But I do play on other terrains to relax or have fun, though.
