What are your thoughts on the direction where GT is going? the right direction or wrong? my feelins are that is certainly going the wrong way as it seems to be to repetitive at the moment well from what i'm seeing.

The first time Gran Turismo came on board, there was a high demand due to its quality and super nice features. But after a couple of releases, there seems to be a repetition either racing strategy, ways to earn unlocked cars and money, etc. Lets see what the new Gran Turismo 6 will bring this time.

The other thing I forgot to mention there needs a new feature for race screen on board. Would be nice to include new ways to view screen in various ways.

I'd rather they spent time honing the current features to perfection than introducing an overload of poorly implemented new ones. That said, there's only so much you can do with a genre in which the premise is to go round in circles.

That is true in an essence of what you are saying. More updates of current features would increase quality.

I agree with Hemingway... Essentially you can only dress it up so many ways, they could keep improving the graphics and the cars, along with the upgrades and things (without turning this into need for speed) but at the end of the day you race with "standard" cars and dressing it up differently is difficult!

That would definitely be the end of Gran Turismo if they ever decide to turn into Need For Speed. There will be riots in forums and profit loss (chaos). According to what Hemingway stated, it would be better for Gran Turismo to invest money and time into improving their current features.

Yeah there would be uproar!! haha! Yeah Sorry should have said I agreed more with the second part of his statement! The more I read your comment Hemingway, the more I think no point has been made and that youve sat on the fence... haha but at the same time contributed to the debate ... Good Post!

You're right, Walker. I didn't intentionally mean to sit on the fence, though. The truth is that the GT series has been progressively losing its charm for me ever since the third game. That's not to say I don't like its more modern incarnations, they just don't make me feel addicted to them like the third one did.

I think it is starting to get a bit repetitive, the graphics and getting slightly better and cars a bit more interesting but it's still the same old game really. It's fun to see new tracks etc but there is nothing really groundbreaking in the new releases anymore.

to me, the gt series is like an longtime friend - you know what you like about it/friend, you know what you don't like and it doesn't really have the need to constantly "improve" to prove its worth as your "friend". i like it for what it is and adding different elements/tracks/cars/etc. only enhances what you already like about it. like your friend, it will change over time, but the basic foundation for why you like it in the first place will always be there.

Totally agree the graphics are amazing but are they working too hard on them?

You can't reinvent the wheel, but you sure can resell it a bunch of times before people realise.

It's basically like Call of Duty in my opinion. The same thing over and over again but I don't mind playing it. As long as I have a good time that will suffice.

This is my biggest problem with the GT series. At first it was great that they were trying to aim for the most realistic driving experience, but now it seems as though they are doing this at the expense of making it into a game. Every tournament feels exactly the same and the game overall feels like a grind and has no excitement to it anymore.

I have tried GT and stopped playing it after sometime. It lacked in the excitement area. I do not think it is going to make any success any more.

Repetition with these types of games is why I get bored too quickly and don't play them anymore.

If you are not a racing enthusiast, all racing games will feel repetitive to you. To me, every race is a new experience.

I must say that the game structures of the recent racing games is almost the same. But it is still fun to play them.

All racing games get repetive after so long, but you do have to like the realism of the Gran Turismo series and the improvement of the graphics to make you seem like your driving a real vehicle.
