I have f1 2013 on pc where I use my keyboard and I have to say that it is the hardest racing game I have ever played. The cars are difficult to control and I have never won a signal race since playing. The car handling is tough especially when using a keyboard. What do you think?
Playing racing games with keyboards is hell.. That's why I went and bought a racing wheel.. but yeah it's quite hard without a wheel or gamepad..
I would say that playing F1 2013 with a keyboard is difficult, because almost every racing game that you play with a keyboard is hard to play because of it. You are better off playing the racing games including F1 2013 with a wheel or with a gamepad.
This is eactly why I hate playing any game with a keyboard racing or not. You never have enough control.
I have trouble with keyboards when it comes to racing games as well, but I find that if you just keep at it long enough then eventually you will get used to it. I suggest just getting a controller if you don't want to waste your time and effort compromising.
It is more difficult, but I have found that for every game and every car you just need to keep trying and you will eventually get a good control of it. I have tried the racing wheel at my friends house and felt more comfortable with it. But, I can still handle it quite well with a keyboard too, with a little more time and a lot more losses.
It may seem difficult the first times, but eventually you will master the controls. The bad thing in my opinion is that you don't have too much control over the thing.
I have not played a racing game with my keyboard for quite some time now, so I don't know how it feels to be honest. But if you are going to play a racing game, I would suggest you use a controller to play it.
Yep . Thats the main reason I bought a steering wheel . Or only play on consoles. Keyboard just takes the fun right out of any racing game. And forget about being able to maneuver.
A racing wheel it's definitely better for racing! It gives you much more control. The keyboard isn't that bad too, of course at first it would be hard but after a couple of races you will get the hang of it and you won't feel the difference. If you would really like to get into a racing game and experience the game at it's best I suggest buying a racing wheel and some stereo headphones!
Yeah, of course it is, playing racing games with a keyboard has always been very hard. They don't allow you the control an analog stick provides when making turns, so you either turn all the way or not at all. You should try getting a good controller for your computer.
I've always wondered why no major game has tried to incorporate steering with the mouse. It works with planes, why not cars? I think it would be better than the all-or-nothing input from the keyboard, at least.
It is definitely difficult, but if you really want to do it, you will be able to. Every racing game is a different experience when switching from keyboard to wheel and vice versa. Obviously, I think that it is better to play with a keyboard than with cheap knock-off wheel. They are the worst.
Yes, I do think so. Playing just about any racing game at all with a keyboard is surprisingly difficult, even more so for any Formula One game. I would highly recommend a controller (XBOX controller preferably) or even a racing wheel for racing games. However, with time and determination, it is possible to play a racing game as well with a keyboard as with a gamepad or wheel, so if you oblige, you can.
I have found it, to be challenging and can make mistakes when driving the car as it is daunting and can be tiresome. I do the trial runs where I can, get used to the controls and take days as sometimes crashing into walls and into other cars when doing it. I have enjoyed using a driving wheel and it has proven to be easy and I can concentrate on the game. Some people can be better at some games than others and, can play it using a keyboard and some people take more practice like me.
Obviously racing games don't mix well with keyboards unless they're very basic games that don't require a ton of split-second maneuvering.
I'm imagining how I would use mouse on car games and I think I'd do terribly at it. I think the sensitivity would just be too much for it since some tracks really need some precise turning.
Given that most of my life up until last year (when I bought a 360 controller for my pc), I have been playing racing games on PC with the keyboard, I definitely don't think any game is too hard for a (mouse and) keyboard setup.
I always prefer a wheel, keyboards just don't appeal to me as something with which racing games can be played.
I agree. As long as you are used to it then you could play like a beast in it regardless of what type of controller you have. I'd say console controllers are much easier but even then I know if I play against my friends who play all the time on a keyboard I'd still get beat even if I am using a console controller.
