I'm sure some of us have one or two famous titles that we dislike, and even worse, when they get critical acclaim and you feel like a crazy person for not getting why. Which games are this type for you?

For me personally, I never got Heavy Rain or Little Big Planet. I realize HR has a good plot and it's probably worth sticking with to see the twists, but I just couldn't bring myself to continue getting bossed around by my own computer. As for LBP, I just found it annoying and not cute at all. I might just prefer Nintendo's brand of cute, although I don't really like cute games at all usually. Which games are this way for you?

Skyrim. Not really a console game and I don't really dislike it that much, but people talk about it like if it's the second coming.

I am extremely annoyed that a game with such an awful combat system and a million bugs and glitches gets called the "Game of the Year". I guess people have low standards, because Skyrim is far from being as good as people claim.

Agreed, @Solar although I admit I didn't get far enough into the game to make a proper criticism, but I think the fact that I didn't want to push forward says a fair amount about how interesting it really was, at least to me.

GTA V. It won Best Game of The Year, and for some reason, it bothered me a lot. The only thing that I remember thinking to myself when it won was, "The only reason it won is because it's a GTA game." And you know what, I still think that to myself. Yes, it's not like GTA V was bad, but up against game giants like The Last of Us and Bioshock Infinite, uh, no. GTA V is in no position to be called a bad game, I enjoyed the game. But to be considered a masterpiece is pushing it. It was pure fun, it didn't hit you with the feeling with wow, this needs to be Game Of The Year. The Last of Us did that to me every scene. Bioshock Infinite's ending convinced me it needed to win. GTA V? Not really.

I don't know of the other games you are referring to because I've never gotten to play them yet, but I agree that GTA is mostly just fun and not really all that revolutionary anymore. I may just prefer the older titles too much though.

Ah, a retro gamer! Yeah, I feel the same way, GTA is a game for pure entertainment. It may be a contender for Best Game of The Year if they bump up the story and the character development. I would feel that the game could improve if they focus on one thing at a time. It would be much more enjoyable if I actually cared about the characters and their motives. GTA typecasted their characters into crime maniacs and it's getting a bit repetitive. It's actually very annoying and blocking any way to get into legendary games. However, critics are indifferent from this. GTA IV is highest rated game on the PS3, GTA V is the second highest rated game. Then, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Ugh, how annoying.

Gahhhh Heavy Rain sucked and was too depressing. I have played similar and like you I don't like only having a few options to get a task done. I don't understand the hate for Skyrim though. I loved it. I still play it once a day for a few hours just for the fun of it.

I would have to say Heavy Rain I think, because I could not get into it as much as everyone else could. My husband loved it but I didn't. I guess I need to try and play it again, but I really got tired of everyone talking about how good the game was and I really could not get into the game. I guess I am just not going to get into that game.

I don't know why everyone keeps praising Zelda series. Yeah, it's a fun game and all, but it's not really amazing in my opinion.

Heavy rain and most of david cage's modern movie games shit. I like to PLAY my games and not watch them. I feel the same way about naughty dogs uncharted games.. They are sorta neat but I've played much better games about raiding tombs...

I never liked Zelda too much. But I guess that has become more than a game. It's like a nerd thing now...
Either way, not really my thing.

I have never played Skyrim, but it sounds really dumb.

Also, every League of Legends, World of Warcraft kind of thing, is a massive waste of time...
The only thing I like about those games is stealing my friends accounts :D

I never knew both were at the to spots but yeah I agree that they are all fairly similar. I think they are given the recognition because they are consistent in adding more layers to their games successfully.

I loved Little Big Planet, but I never really got into Heavy Rain. I just didn't find the game that appealing..

I didn't get that game as well. It was all just following commands and it got boring for me after the first few minutes. I'm guessing people like it more for the story which I don't really care that much about.

I'm not really into Call of Duty, despite it being so popular. I've never really been a war game fan, other than for Sci-Fi war games, like Halo, Gears of War, and Mass Effect. I'm sure that Call of Duty is popular for a reason, but it doesn't appeal to my taste.

Outlast for PS3. It's too gory for me and the brutal deaths are a bit gratuitous. It's a dark and creepy game that gives me chills over how disturbing it is.

Skyrim was a game that I just couldn't get into. I don't know if it was because I was hooked on other games and neglected it, I just failed to find a connection with the game. Sometimes even great games don't appeal to people, everybody just has their own concept for a good game.

Me neither. I'm not too interested in war games or movies, so these never appealed to me, mostly because of the monotone colors as I prefer my games to be as colorful as possible and also I'm just not too interested in FPS games in general.

Really, most war games that are popular I'm not really big on. I don't know why. I just think they're overrated.
Yes, they just have a serious and depressing air in those war games. The dull color schemes, the American action-thriller aspect, and the story that would be meaningful to others, but I can't grasp. I've just never been into that genre of games.

I've never been interested in them either even in movies because they are all just so monotone and dreary. Though, I can understand a bit why the narrative in these themes can become more compelling due to the situation, but it just doesn't appeal to me. The only war game I kind of liked was Counter Strike, but probably only because that was a bit more cartoony.
