It would have done well as a single player game too. What do you think? Given the setting and the vast world to explore. I wouldn't mind being granted an option to play it solo without needing to connect to internet. What do you think?
I'm pretty sure it'll be quite easy for them make an offline mode. It seems easy to think as Ubisoft are making quite a few games with drop in multiplayer.
Why wouldn't they? It helps them curb piracy and no one can blame them for the DRM, because hey, it's a multiplayer game after all.
I know it's a different but look at every other game they done. Their DRM is Uplay. It's the same for Farcry 3 and the new Assassins Creeds. You log into that, then select offline within the game to stop getting updates and things like friends scores on time attacks.
I am not talking about games you can play offline. It's about MMOs that they have been making more and more of these days. Even the recently introduced Siege is a muliplayer focused game.
I wouldn't mind it. If they do do it though, it will probably be non linear. Just different missions you can go to in any order.
To be honest, I can understand why it's a multiplayer only experience. The game was likely designed from the get go be a multiplayer game, and so adding a singleplayer mode is likely a difficult task, and not possible by simply changing a couple of lines of code. Personally though, I think having more options for playing the game is better than having less, so I'd like to see a singleplayer mode.
Yeah, it would be good but multiplayer will make the game even better, no doubt about it, interactivity between players make every game better.
I think they should include a single player offline mode, and I'm guessing they will since it is standard in all games. I just hope they don't end up just rushing it or phoning it in, though.
I wouldn't mind if it were both, actually. Single-player to just cruise around and multiplayer for the intense racing. people are always harder to race, even if they are newbies. Some like to purposefully drive into your car to get you off the track, lol.
Looking at the game-play trailers of The Crew, this has to be an awesome game. And yeah, I wish it has single player mode. In fact, I was so excited about it until I read somewhere that it may only have single player mode. The graphics look awesome and the game play seems to be fun. Even if you have to race with your friends, there will be times when they aren't available and you just can't sit waiting for them. Hey I am sure they can make an offline mode where the AI takes care of managing the CO-OP part so you can have a similar experience .
Yeah, I always enjoy playing by myself (hehehe). But seriously an offline mode would have made this one of my favorite racing games of all times. As it is I find it lacking.
I would prefer having a single player option for offline play. Of course I wouldn't use it that often, but it would be nice to have available.
It's already confirmed that you can be a lone wolfer if you want to be, but you need to stay online to play this game which sucks.
I really wish the game had offline singleplayer, because I don't want to be online all the time, and sometimes I just prefer to race the AI over players. Apparently, there's going to be microtransactions that sound like they can be abused: http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2014/04...sactions-everything-in-game-is-dual-currency/ I don't like the sound of this business model, because it sounds like: 1. "Busy" players (read: Ubisoft's best customers with disposable income) will be able to pay to win 2. They'll increase the grind for those who don't want to pay, even though they already paid $60 for the game All in all, it just sounds like they're trying to gouge people for money however they can. We can hope that this isn't the case, though, and there won't be a paywall for those who already paid for the game.
I agree. A lot of the games now are adapting the in-app transaction feature, which I think seem to beneficial only for players, like you said, disposable income. I think the developers can make a lot more money like this, cos some players are ready to pay a lot just to get an edge. I think the era of getting good at a game by playing well is being coming to an end and now you have to get good as well as pay well. In fact, in some game, you can only pass certain levels if you have paid for certain upgrades, which is a real turn-off.
In all honesty I never heard of the game and I thought that it was both haha. I need to really get back into the whole racing game thing. I just been off the scene for a while and need to hop back on, but I just watched some videos and I think that it would do great as a single player game though. I think that being online all the time is fun too, because I am a huge dark souls player, so I am always online, but you can go in offline mode too. Yeah maybe they will do an offline mode or something.
Knowing Ubisoft, they will never go for an offline mode or something like that as it will increase the possibility of the game being pirated which they don't want to happen.
