I switch back and forth between the two views, but obviously GTA V is made for third-person play. How often do you find yourself using first-person view?
I can't play first-person mode in GTA V for the love of my life. I always felt like GTA is a game designed to be played in third-person only but that might be just me.
I've actually started using it almost exclusively. It's a bit tricky switching from third-person view but at the same time it's more entertaining. Like the using the sights on the guns, I like that a lot. I'm sure people said the same sort of thing when they bought out GTA III in regards to switching from top-down view to third-person.
Hmm, I guess. Maybe it does take time to get used to it and since I don't play in that mode at all I hate it!
I don't use it that often because I still prefer using third person view most of the time but sometimes if I'm just cruising or want to see anything in particular using first person view I will do it but for missions I usually just stick with what I'm more comfortable with just so I could finish them easier.
I really don't use the first person mode because I prefer using the third person view it makes me more comfortable. But when I'm on a very nice view with a nice weather I use the FPS mode.
Very often, I feel like it's a fantastic addition, and if it would've have had it, the game would've been as complete. At least, it wouldn't have FELT as complete. I just feel like I'm actually in the game while in first person.
I would switch from time to time, but I like being able to see the character. I sometimes find it hard to play in the other view especially when driving haha. I do like to switch and try to play though, because I love switching things up.
First-Person is the best thing ever if you're playing with friends in some sort of competition. It makes everything more chaotic and more frustrating.
I was racing against friends earlier today with a bunch of obstacles and ramps in the course. Let's just say that an otherwise 5-minute race took us about an eternity.
Was it on the console or PC version of the game? I've seen some youtube vids of some crazy courses that have been made in the PC version that I would love to race on in first person. Even drifting around the airport and running from the police in first-person is a totally different experience compared to third.
Yeah it's hard to play these types of games when the character is out of view. I find switching is the best since it mostly just helps with scoping or adds to the cinematic feel overall for certain situations.
Both have their pluses and minuses. First-perrson your view is restricted but feels more real, third-person your view is more open but it may lead to some control issues that I've found.
The only time I've played first person mode is when driving. Probably the worst thing you can do in the game that involves first person mode. What I kinda miss is the crashing and getting thrown out of the car.
Being thrown through the windscreen can still happen. Try on the freeway hitting one of the medians head on at high speed and you get thrown out. All the times I've done it though results in an insta-death.
I played through a bit of the story in first person view, but quickly went back to third person. I usually prefer third person over third person in most games though. That's probably why I just went back to third person soon after.
I've thought about re-starting the story and going through it in first-person view only but I don't know, currently I am enjoying the benefits of 100% completion.
I prefer third person too, both in games like this one and in racing. Although I appreciate that the option of first person view is now available and it is fun to switch once in a while just to see more detail.
It's like a whole new perspective playing first-person mode in GTA V. I don't know what it is, but everything seems that much more personal and a lot more funnier. I mean if you drive around without a weapon selected and press the fire button you instead flip people off, something I did not notice in third-person.
I don't use it as often as I imagined in free roam. But for certain jobs I think it's much more fun to lock to first person. Races I dislike it because it doesnt allow you to see if someone is making a move to spin you out.
