Perfect timing as I just got a ps4 and will probably get this game on there soon. I was thinking of getting it on PC but now I'll probably just go with this version. I'm just wondering if there will be mods I'm missing if I go with the console version.
I was just waiting for this news. I knew that it will surely come up for PlayStation. It is one of the most loved consoles for the gamers. I am waiting for the final release.
Is this news official? Are you really sure that it is going to be released for the PlayStation? It is really good to hear that it is going to be released for that platform.
You'll pretty much play without mods if you choose to go with the console version, that's why I bought the game on PC and the modding community is pretty big.
This to me just shows that they are thinking of expanding the genera. If the are getting into play station 4 then they might have another game in the pipeline. I wouldn't be surprised if late next year we hear something.
Damn, I was considering getting it until I realized that No Man's Sky will be coming out extremely soon. I've been hyped for this game for a few years now, so that's probably all I'll be spending my time on for a while. I guess if I get an itch for MXGP2, I can boot it up on my PC and play it for a little bit. I think the biggest part of it coming to PS4 will be playing with my friends that don't have great gaming PC's. Some of them have expressed interest in playing the game, but they've never had the chance because their computers can barely run Chrome, lol. I'm sure the experience of the game would be loads better on a huge screen than on my tiny monitor, as well. Although I probably won't be getting the game for a while, here's hoping that it'll be a good port! Thanks for the info.
As seen from the comments already on this thread, I think the Playstation 4 version of the game is highly anticipated with a lot of people choosing not to buy it for the PC but to wait for the console version. Unfortunately though, some of the reviews of the game on the other platform haven't been that favourable, and only time will tell if that is going to impact on the number it sells.
Didn't think of that and that does sound kind of like a bummer. I tend to get tired of conventional racing games very easily and mods do help extend the life and replay value so maybe I'll just buy a computer and opt for the PC version this time.
Yeah, mods are one of the big reasons I prefer playing PC games over console games. The longevity of many games is increased by so long by just a few mods, and there are hundreds of mods available for most games. I've never gotten bored of a game on PC, unless there were no mods available to it. I'm really glad the other user pointed it out, because I actually hadn't considered that until I saw his reply. OP if you value mods and longevity in a game, I think most people will stick to PC over PS4 purely because of mods.
I've always just played on consoles so I have never got to try this out but I have always been curious and I think now is a good time to get into it so maybe I'll just save my purchases for the PC version for all the next games I'll be buying.
I'd highly recommend doing that. I've been a console player for most of my life, but I switched over to primarily playing on PC two or three years ago and I haven't looked back since. Pretty much everything is better on PC, from graphics, to communities, to mods. I never knew games could look as good as they did on PC until I booted up some of my favorite console games on PC with max graphics. Some people overstate how much better the graphics are, but it really does make a world of difference. Now is a fantastic time to get into PC gaming since there are tons of really good games that will be coming out in the neat future, and the games that have been out for a few months are heavily discounted and can be bought at almost anytime.
Then you were probably missing out on much. Some of the best racing games are either Xbox or PS exclusives. Though I must admit PC gaming is better than console gaming most gamers buy consoles because there are numerous games they can't play on PC. That might change in the near future but before it does, people who want to play games like Gran Turismo for example must play it on a Playstation console.
My mistake, I must have worded my post wrong. I meant I play most of my games on PC and switch over to my PS4 for a little bit whenever an exclusive comes out. That's probably the biggest reason I got my PS4 honestly, some of the exclusives are just so damn good. I've never tried Gran Turismo, but I've heard tons of good things about it. I just went for the "big" exclusives as soon as I got my PS4, which were TLoU and Bloodborne, which are both stellar games. Come to think of it, I've thought about getting into racing games on console for a while now, and Gran Turismo seems like a great opportunity for me. Thanks for the idea!
While there are still some exclusive games, I do think that more and more games are now being released across all the platforms so a lot of gamers don't miss out like they once did. The software developers though aren't doing it just for our benefit of course, as the more platforms they cover when releasing a game, the more money they are going to make.
While that's mostly true, there's still a ton of games that are exclusive to one or two consoles, which really sucks for PC players. Most notably, TLoU and Red Dead Redemption are exclusive to only two consoles, so it really does suck for people that don't have them. I specifically bought a PS4 just to enjoy the exclusives, since I don't really care for most of the Xbox exclusives. It just sucks to get screwed out of a game because I'm not willing to drop $300 for a console just to play one game. I know a lot of my friends that only play PC games are upset because they aren't able to experience some of the amazing games that are console exclusives. Hopefully the trend of releasing games only for certain consoles eventually dies out.
Mods have been slowly coming out for consoles though, games like Fallout 4 can already be modded despite being on a different platform so maybe you won't have to wait too long for console mods.
Yeah I also think it's pretty unfair to release games just for a couple of consoles. It sucks for everyone else who doesn't own one. I guess I've never come across any of these so-called 'exclusive' games, but I hope that more games will be released across all the platforms in future.
Did not know that and I think that's great news. I just hope that it gets to the level that is as complex and full as the mods and communities on PC. Do you think that is likely?
